CBD Formulation, Strain Selection & Terpenes | First Crop

Our strain selection process and it bridges directly from that, the idea of terpenes and why they’re important. When we pick a strain for any of our formulas would take happy, for instance, which is our sativa formulation with added adapted to the botanicals, which are damiana, Hawthorne, berry, Rhodiola, and Mitri. When we pick the strain though the sativa, we reach out to our source farmers here in New Mexico and ask for all of the CFAs of any incoming sativa that they have. So during this past month, it’s been a pretty extensive process cropped over and all of these beautiful flowers coming in. So what we do is we root out the particular strain of that given time cycle around our production dates that speaks specifically towards the terpene profile that we want for the formulation. So all of the main terpene content in that sativa is going to match the effect of the damiana, the Hawthorne, the Rhodiola, and the mimosa.

So you’re getting a leveling series of where this formula is just getting more and more potent, more and more effective, and really providing a consistent outcome to what you were speaking on when you compare it to a distillate product, which THC as a distillate is one compound when you add it or what I like to say is spiking with ACBN or ACBG. Now you’ve got another compound that’s great. It’s those two compounds have their own timeline in the body as far as uptake goes at minute 42 for me, it’s going to kick in and at minute 48 for you, it’ll kick in. We’re all bio individuals, so there’s a slight variance there. But again, when you’re speaking towards two compounds versus a myriad of 300 plus just in the organic certified CBD and the live rosin that we add into the formulations on top of that, speaking towards all of the botanicals and their full spectrum terpene profile and compound profile, you’re getting a very, very serious multiplier as far as efficacy goes.

So very effective formulations because we bring that full spectrum of what nature already has done in such a beautiful way to the table and the formulations, all the botanicals are organic certified as well. So it really is this beautiful symmetry of all the plants working together. But when you speak towards a specific strain and its beautiful terpene profile, we’re always looking for the best one of that month or of that production cycle. And we go through that process with all four formulas every time the hybrids, which are the calm and the relief, and then the indico, which is the sleep. Obviously, we get to see some of the best flour in the state, and it’s really a fun process.
