Can you provide a general description of the product and experience a cannabis user might have while smoking sativa, indica, or hybrid?
In the most general of terms, sativas are stimulating and indicas are sedating. Everybody knows the old adage “inda couch” for indicas to, you know, denote the fact that indicas make you not want to leave the couch. And why? It’s the balance of terpenes that make it an indica or a sativa. It’s that balance of terpenes that gives the plant its character and its personality. There are some terpenes that of course occur in sativa plants that also occur in indica plants, and vice versa. But as above, so below, as in ancient Chinese and Greek medicine. Sativas grow tall with long internodal spacing.
That’s the spacing between the branchlets, and that long internodal spacing makes a sativa plant look like it’s reaching for the sky. That reaching up is a good memory aid, in that sativa provides more of a head experience; cerebral, exciting, creative, uplifting. Whereas indica plants are lower and bushier closer to the ground. And the effects likewise, are more body centered. Indicas are grounding, sometimes sedating, good for pain relief, sleep, and relaxation. Hybrids are going to be a cross between an indica plant and a sativa plant, or more likely a cross of several. A hybrid ideally would be “baby bear’s bed,” right in between; not too stimulating, not too sedating.
