Avoiding Negative Cannabis Effects in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Do most budtenders know about the negative effects of a product such as the burnout effect in Santa Fe, New Mexico?

I don’t know what most budtenders know. Some will of course ignore negative effects like red eyes and paranoia and increased anxiety and increased tolerance and the burnout effects ’cause they’re trying to get the tips in the jar. Do most budtenders know? I don’t really know what most budtenders know.

Are there products to help combat negative effects of cannabis products? In other words, if I’m worried about getting too high or take too much, are there products that can help?

Well, until recently, I would’ve said CBD and time. CBD keys into the same receptor as THC. When a person is taking too much THC, CBD in large doses can overwhelm that CB1 one receptor, kick THC out and take its place. It can really help bring a high down. CBD as a remedy does take a while though. Smoking CBD is fairly rapid, but you have to smoke a lot of it to overcome the THC effects. But now there’s a product called Undoo. It uses a non-psychoactive precursor to THC called Olivetol which they derive from lichen. Looking at the diagram of the molecule, it looks like half of the THC molecule. As such, it keys into the same receptor as the THC molecule, but it’s roughly half the size. So it slips through the blood brain barrier more readily, can overtake that CB1 one receptor, kick out the THC and take its place much more effectively than CBD. A single dose of Undoo can turn your high off and bring it down. So let’s say you, you, you thought you had some time off and you sit down and you get high and the phone rings and suddenly you’ve got something important to deal with right now. You could take this product and it’ll set you straight in about 20 or 30 minutes. They have different concentrations of the same molecule, one for next day fogginess and then another one for resetting one’s tolerance.

What are the key things to look for in judging a low quality dispensary versus a high quality dispensary?

Cleanliness, the detail of the website, how much information they seem to have posted. I’m not suggesting that you go in and ask questions just to quiz your bartender and see how knowledgeable he or she is, but you can tell upon walking if the place has a headshop vibe or what. I don’t have a quick answer for that. I don’t think we can judge much by the eyeball test.
