How are most cannabis businesses in Santa Fe, New Mexico staying current with cannabis trends?
I think most cannabis businesses in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at least dispensaries, are staying current with cannabis trends by staying one step behind. Most stores seem to be finding out about new products from their vendors. There’ll be a number of vendors they trust and then the ever-growing influx of new vendors trying to get on these shelves, and the pharmacy or the dispensary owners are deciding on new products based on what’s put in front of them. They just want product on the shelves and don’t seem to be as concerned about what the product is. So they’ll try something. If it doesn’t sell, drop it off. I don’t think businesses are really staying current at all nor do I see any local businesses showing much concern about trend forecasting, trying to ascertain what’s gonna be happening next year. What are people going to be wanting in two years, in what direction is the industry headed? There are some tools for that, but I don’t see the stores availing themselves of it.
