Santa Fe, New Mexico CBD Local Brands Versus National Brands

At what point will branding be more important when it comes to sales, and will national brands be more influential than local brands?

I think it’s probably twofold. I think if you look at it one way, and by the way, I don’t know who thinks that Mike Tyson lends credibility to a brand besides just his name? I mean what exactly in his background screams I know about relief? I guess it also depends on what people are taking it for. If it’s for pain relief and inflammation, I think people will try any, so there’s one camp that’s going to certainly say, I don’t know anything about this, but Hulk Hogan is a recognized name and he’s from my era, so I’m going to try his. And then there’s certainly another camp that says, well, the best stuff is going to be the stuff that’s a little brand and in Santa Fe knows how to make it and they’re making it. So I don’t think either one lends itself to credibility.

And I have a friend who make ups a very high-end CBD. And their differentiator, as it were, or a better mouse trap so to speak, is that’s all based on nanotechnology. And it’s a single molecule C B D, which is pretty radical. I mean, if you know about the chemistry, that’s a very different approach to it. And they have, they’ve been written up in New England Journal of Medicine for being the only one that has a single molecule CBD. And what’s the relevance of that? The relevance is the efficacy. Most CBD, the efficacy is somewhere probably 13 to 15% max. And because of the chemistry involved, chrysalis, which is their brand, doesn’t break down until it gets into the small intestine, which is going to provide a higher efficacy and more of it gets into the body.

So they actually have numbers up 75 to 80% because of that. Now, does it all work? I don’t know. I’ve tried the CBG and for a very specific reason, I developed tendonitis about a year ago, and both my arms and elbows, it’s from the elbow down to the wrist and it’s a nuisance. It’s painful and it’s a nuisance, and really all it is is inflammation. So I spoke with my friend, he gave me a number of capsules and you kind of blitz it heavy in the beginning and then kind of back off, and it worked really well in the beginning, but then as I backed off, it stopped working.

So I’m not sure, I don’t know the science of it, so I’m not sure what that means. And I don’t think you should keep taking heavy doses of anything. So that’s really the only hands-on experience that I’ve had with it. But certainly since we’re through strangle, I do keep my eyes peeled and see what’s new and what’s coming around the corner. I think that it seems like maybe the cart cap before the horse in that it was just a new substance, it became legal and so everybody flocked to it and nobody really, I don’t know that anybody really knows yet because there’s been no studies, not any huge studies done to validate the efficacy of the compound. Now we know there’s new compounds coming out. Also, CBN and CBG to mention two, just three of the hundreds and hundreds of cannabinoids.

I’ve seen somebody that did use a one-to-one CBN and THC for pain relief, and it worked really well. But the CBN really did for them was that after taking, and this was in a gummy form and after using it, there was no hangover in the morning from the THC, which is kind of a nice thing for somebody that does not regularly ingest THC. So CBNs got a lot of promise. And again, I’ve read some stuff about CBG, I just don’t know enough about it though, and I know those are coming on into the mainstream as we speak.
