The second most prominent cannabinoid found in marijuana is cannabichromene (CBC). CBC could make up as much as 64% of a plant’s cannabinoid profile. Cannabichromene works to elevate mood, and is roughly ten times more effective than CBD in this regard. Of all the non-psychoactive cannabinoids, CBC has the most anti-depressant effects. CBC has been found to trigger the uptake of anandamide, an endocannabinoid with a similar chemical structure to THC. In animal studies, CBC has been shown to have anti-convulsant, anti-tumor, and analgesic effects.
